Shoufukan Dojo

Shoufukan Dojo

http://www.shoufukan.myzen.co.uk/

A living tradition forged on the battlefields of medieval Japan, Takeuchi-ryu retains the techniques and teaching methods of the Samurai to the present day. The Shoufukan Dojo practices in Mirfield under Anna Seabourne Sensei who in 2007 returned from twelve years studying at a traditional dojo in Japan. Beginners aged 16+ are welcome.  Prospective students are invited to do 'kengaku' i.e. observe a training session. Students undertake a trial period at no charge and the organisation is run entirely on a not-for-profit basis. For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact the dojo by phone or via the website. We also have a calendar of demonstrations and workshops: look out for us at the Mirfield Olympic Countdown event and again at the Mirfield Show this summer.
