Biography

Born in Mirfield, I was educated at Whitcliffe Mount Grammer School, Dewsbury College of further education, and Huddersfield University, where I got a degree in Humanities, and a Diploma in Health and Social Care.

I have a grown up family, and work in Mirfield, at a local care home for the elderly- work that I have done for the past thirty years. I am chairman of the plans scrutiny committee, and represent the council on the Standards Board for Kirklees Council, and at the Kirklees Historic Bulidings Trust (of which I am trustee).

I am the chair of governers at Flatts nursery school, and deputy chair of governers at Boothroyd Junior and Infants School. I am involved in my local parish church, having done some work as a local preacher, my hobbies include reading and walking.
