Biography

My name is Patricia Sutcliffe; I am the current Mayor of Mirfield and Chair of the Town council, I have lived in Mirfield for seven years now and feel completely at home. The warmth and welcome my family and I received moving into Mirfield led to my applying to become a Town Councillor last year. It is important to me to give something back to the place where I live. Since being co-opted as a Mirfield Town Councillor I have served on the Planning Committee and dealt with several issues affecting local people. In addition to being a local Town Councillor I am also a Community Governing Body member at Lower Hopton School. 

Prior to moving to Mirfield I served as both a Town and District Councillor in Selby, chairing the Environmental Health Committee and sitting on both the Planning and Licensing Committees at District level, so I have a good deal of experience as an active Councillor. My main aim though is to serve the community in which I live and I can think of no better community to serve than Mirfield and hope you will elect me to serve you.

Professionally, my last post before I retired was as Director of MBA studies working for Leeds University out in Singapore. I have also worked as an Investor In People Assessor and Director of Business Development in the Health Service.
