Biography

My name is John Sutcliffe and I moved to Mirfield with my family 7 years ago and couldn't think of a better, friendlier, more welcoming place to live. I became a Town Councillor last year and sit on the Planning Committee where I play an active part in deciding the issues associated with Planning. Although I have only been a Councillor for a short period of time I have been able to use my working experience as an Engineer to understand the intricacies of planning applications and make reasoned judgements.

Professionally, I am a qualified Engineer holding a BS.c in Mechanical engineering. I have worked for the same company all of my working life, more than 40 years, beginning as an apprentice and working my way up to a senior management level.

In the same way that I have made a commitment to the company I work for, I have made a commitment to my work as a Councillor and should you elect me as your Councillor I will work diligently to ensure that Mirfield remains a place where people enjoy living.
